Onalaska Express Rehearsal Jan. 10

An Onalaska Express rehearsal, on this date, they started out with warm-ups and vocals. One warm-up that they used is called "If We Want to be Ready to Sing" (at least that's what they call it). and it comes with hand movements and five different verses. I think this is their most liked warm-up because of how happy they look while doing it. After the number of times going through their "Hollywood is Dead" number, they moved onto their ballad for a small amount of time before moving back to "Hollywood is Dead" but on stage while dancing and singing along.

Practicing their dancing they start at the end of the number previous to the one they want to go over. They move to their next spots and then start that song, in this case, "Hollywood is Dead". They would rehearse and rehearse until they were where Mr. Moses, their director, felt they needed to be. Including facials, diction, crescendos, and placements they are going over every little detail, similar to Hilltoppers rehearsals (Hilltopper Rehearsal Blog).

After going through their second number ("Hollywood is Dead") they went over their ballad, twice, that was a short, yet needed run-through. They immediately moved onto their fourth number which is a girl/boy number. The boys went over their part about five times before letting the girls go over theirs a couple times and also adding the boys back with the girls.

Mr. Moses had a couple of Show Choir alumni come in and give them some pointers, he called them "the peanut gallery". It consisted of Alexa Hosch, and Zaria Wright. A couple of the things that they brought up for them is the movement of their bodies, how strong and confident they are, their facials, and their energy throughout the number that they are going through in the auditorium that they are rehearsing in.

When they were done going through each part of the boy/girl number they then followed with going over their closing number, they went over it once and then Mr. Moses stopped to give them some pointers that he thinks they need. Before they continued on he wanted to hear some notes that didn't sound right all together, then letting them continue on with the second run through of the closer. I had to leave express rehearsal early at this point and, seeing them at this point before they host their own competition, they are doing incredibly well.
